Dr Moniz completed his medical degree at the University of Western Australia (UWA) and was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) and the Australian Orthopaedic Association (FAOrthA) following his specialist training in Western Australia. He further honed his skills through an AOA-accredited fellowship at the Orthopaedic Research Institute of Queensland and gained invaluable international experience working alongside renowned orthopaedic surgeons in Ireland, the UK, France, Switzerland, and Italy.
His subspecialty interests include:

Beyond his surgical practice, Dr Moniz is passionate about education and research. He maintains an academic role as a clinical lecturer at UWA, mentoring medical students and contributing to orthopaedic research. His academic interests focus on enhanced recovery after surgery and emerging assistive technologies, including patient-specific implants, artificial intelligence, and robotic-assisted surgery.
