###About

Mr Simon Wall is a Specialist Orthopaedic Surgeon with experience and expertise in lower limb joint replacement and revision surgery, knee arthroscopy and ligament reconstruction, general orthopaedics, Ilizarov frames and trauma surgery.

Dr Wall operates privately from St John of God Hospital Murdoch and Mount Hospital, and has public appointments in Perth (at Fiona Stanley Hospital, Fremantle Hospital) as well as in the Great Southern at Albany Hospital. Simon has previously served as a Consultant at the State Major Trauma Unit at Royal Perth Hospital. He consults privately in Perth at Orthopaedics WA, at Murdoch and in Albany at the Great Southern Specialist Centre.

Simon gained his Medical Degree from Imperial College, London, in 1998. He completed his Orthopaedic training in the SW Thames Region based at St Georges Hospital, London. He complemented his Orthopaedic training with Specialist fellowships in the UK, USA and Australia.

###Fellowships

Simon is fellowship-trained in primary and revision hip and knee surgery, and sports knee reconstruction at the world-leading Princess Elizabeth Orthopaedic Centre, Exeter, UK, and Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, Perth.

Simon also undertook fellowship in major trauma surgery at Royal Perth Hospital. Simon has completed a research fellowship at the Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore, USA, with research into minimally invasive hip surgery, ACL injury mechanisms and osteoporotic fracture biomechanics.

###Trauma

Mr Wall has a passion for trauma surgery, with experience gained at the State Major Trauma Unit in Perth and continued at the new Orthopaedic Trauma Department of Fiona Stanley Hospital. He has particular expertise and interest in the management of complex lower limb injuries, and Ilizarov frame surgery. Simon is the liaison Orthopaedic Surgeon in the State Rehabilitation Centre.

He is trained in federal and international remote surgical disaster management.

###Albany

Simon consults privately from the Great Southern Specialist Centre on Cockburn Road in Albany. He is able to provide private and public surgical services at Albany Regional Hospital. Simon fell in love with The Great Southern region when he first visited, and has been providing a regular visiting elective and emergency Orthopaedic service at Albany Hospital since 2011.
